As you may be aware, the Waukesha County AIS team hosted the annual Snapshot Day on August 15, 2020.  Snapshot Day is an annual statewide event held to search for aquatic invasive species in area waterways.  With the assistance of more than 100 volunteers, they were happy to report no Starry Stonewort was found in any new sites. They were also able to verify a few sites with Purple Loosestrife, Banded Mystery Snails, and Rusty Crayfish.  All of these sites have had these invasives for a while now, but they were able to get them confirmed, verified, and vouchered.  The latest newsletter highlights in photos the differences between invasives and native plants that might look similar.  Please visit the Waukesha County website at to learn more!
